Single Acting Air Valve

Single Acting Air Valve

A Single Acting Air Valve is a type of valve designed to automatically release trapped air from pipelines during normal operation. When fluid flows through a pipeline, air can accumulate at high points, forming pockets that restrict flow, cause pressure loss, or even lead to water hammer. The single acting air valve opens to release this trapped air, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted flow and protecting pumps, compressors, and other pipeline equipment.

Unlike dual acting valves, single acting air valves do not allow air to enter the system during draining or vacuum conditions. Their primary function is continuous air release while the pipeline is pressurized, making them ideal for water supply networks, irrigation systems, sewage lines, and various industrial fluid systems. By efficiently removing air, these valves improve system performance, reduce maintenance needs, and enhance pipeline safety and longevity.
